Drafter/Modelers at the Nucor Detailing Center are responsible for coordinating with and providing drafting/modeling services for Nucor manufacturing facilities located throughout the United States. Using a customized BIM software, TEKLA, a 3D model of the project is created to ensure all components fit together correctly as part of a complete design solution. From this 3D model, fabrication drawings and reports, bill of materials, and field construction drawings will be generated and verified.

Nucor Detailing Center, located in Norfolk, Nebraska, is seeking to fill openings in our On-site Training Program, geared toward developing drafter/modelers with no prior experience.
You will be trained to use our customized Auto CAD or TEKLA programs to create 3D Models/Drawings of joist, deck, grating, building systems, or structural members, based on customer contract drawings. These models/drawings are then used to specify the exact information required by our various plants and divisions to produce the end products that fulfill our customers’ specific needs. You will be communicating with our customers and will be required to resolve all issues throughout the drafting/modeling process.
